ZUS Beeotics | X-Europe Startup Interview

Welcome to our X-Europe startup interview series. We have virtually sat down with a number of our founders from past cohorts to hear all about their solutions, vision for the future, and what made them tick during our X Europe programme. So whether you are a deep tech founder looking for startup support, an eagle-eyed investor, or simply interested in the possibilities that technology can bring to society, then we welcome you to take a read. Please meet ZUS Beeotics, a startup working on replacing antimicrobial chemicals in beekeeping with probiotics to reduce the environmental impact.

Can you briefly explain what your solution is all about? What’s unique about it?

Our solution is based on beneficial bacteria - probiotics. We hope to replace antimicrobial chemicals in beekeeping with probiotics to reduce the environmental impact.

How can your solution impact the AgriTech sector?

Our probiotics improve honeybee health and increase honey yield. Where bees are used predominantly for the pollination of agricultural crops, our probiotics improve pollination performance and thereby indirectly increase crop yields.

How has X-Europe helped you during the past few months?

It inspired us and helped us connect with similar startups.

After joining and benefiting from the services X-Europe has provided/will provide to you, what next steps do you envision?

We will initiate collaboration with one startup that was also a part of X-Europe, to our mutual benefit.

What advice would you give to an entrepreneur trying to pave his/her way in the AgriTech sector?

Whatever you do, make it better for the environment than the current solutions.

What’s unique about the X-Europe programme?

The mentorship where you get several sessions. Most other programmes we have participated in had only one session.
